Atmospheric streets and squares

As you walk from Interlaken Ost to Interlaken West, you will be surrounded by the glittering lights of the carefully placed Christmas illuminations. Over 100 creatively and lovingly decorated Christmas trees supplied by Interlaken’s small businesses fill the wintry streets with festive charm and joy.

The stag

The stag by class 18b at Gymnasium Interlaken secondary school is a tall and truly awesome sight to behold, perfectly made using local driftwood and large and small filigree stars. It welcomes you majestically from the enchanted forest in Interlaken East.

The Christmas tree

Listen to the tinkling of the wind and enjoy the light display. Thanks to the kind support of the Rugenbräu AG, the restaged Christmas tree by Martin Brunner (Zeitzone 25) is made of 120 drinks crates.

The "Stärneband"

Take a seat, lean back and count the stars and the hidden lights in the "Stärneband". The newest, fascinating object of the high school class SFBG 23 ad is roof battens art in its most beautiful form. Made of one ton of spruce wood from the Bernese Oberland, the curly band invites to meet, chat and to linger.

The ibex family

An ibex family meets on the forecourt of the Migros Interlaken for a cosy winter fondue. "Say Cheese" is the motto for this work of art by high school students from the classes 21abc from Gymnasium Interlaken secondary school. Snap a fun selfie as you join in with your friends and share it with those at home using the hashtag #Winterlaken. A merry winter's message from the artists and Interlaken's heraldic animal that will find its way around the world.

The winter bear

With his blue scarf, the winter bear makes his rounds on the Postplatz on skates. The class SFBG23 of Gymnasium Interlaken shows the proud Bernese heraldic animal from its sporting side.
